Students in Parenting Class took a field trip during their class period to the Havana Public Library. Students had to fill out a study guide that went over literature for children. Students had to find age-appropriate books and write why their book was fitting for that. Books open our minds and hearts to empathy and understanding of new perspectives. Grateful for our library here in town that offered students the chance to learn and explore. We even had time for some play! Go Ducks!
Students in Foods Class hosted the 1st Annual Burger Competition. There was a great selection of hamburgers presented to our judges. Thank you to the teachers and administration who helped judged. The winner was the "7 Layers of Breakfast Burger." The group worked hard to perfect a sunny side up egg, crispy hash-browns, crunchy bacon, and a homemade waffle as their bun. Congratulations.! Parents/Guardians/8th Grade Students...Havana High School will be hosting an Incoming Freshmen Orientation for all current 8th grade students tonight, Thursday, April 3rd, from 6:30-7:30 PM in the Havana High School Gym. We would like to invite all CURRENT 8th graders, as well as their parents and/or guardians, to attend this informational night. This night will involve the high school administration providing some information related to course scheduling for students for next year. We will review choices students have for their schedule and will explain the process of taking specific classes over the course a student's four-year plan during high school. Go Ducks!
