🏃♀️HS Track & Field 🏃♀️had a girls' only meet in Beardstown.
It was a very good meet for the freshmen, getting their first numbers in high school. This includes Kasyn Jibben who ran an outdoor school record 11:44.9 in the 3️⃣2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣.
We had 2️⃣ early season PRs, starting the season better than we ended it.
One of those was Maddie Curless who ran a 12.84 in the 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ meter. Faster than her state qualifying time from last year.
Another PR was Lila Dye who had 8.66 meters (28'5") on the shot put.
I could go on an on about how well the girls did, but there were girls in 24 events and there is only so much room to post. But I'm proud of all the girls who competed today.
Reminder there is Little Ducks wrestling practice Monday from 6:30-7:30 at New Central! Go Ducks!🦆

Huge shoutout to Sarah Phelps with Learning Technology Center of Illinois ! Her support in helping us build our New Central STEAM Lab has been incredible. From sharing her expertise & spreadsheets to even letting us borrow Bee-Bots so our students could begin exploring coding, she has truly gone above and beyond for our school. Sarah also trained our teachers and provided additional support to our administrators as the process of building the lab unfolded. We are grateful for all of her collaboration. #GoDucks
🏃♂️Wrestling 🏃♂️ had the PORTA Open today.
Taking a break from worrying about team scores, high pressure situations, and managing weight to just enjoy wrestling for the love of wrestling.
The crew of 1️⃣0️⃣ Havana High School kids did great. Draidan got 2nd 🥈, Yocum 3rd 🥉, Laikyn got 4th, and Myles got 5th.
Big shout out to Dan Barker for driving/coaching the crew while Coach Lee was officiating and Coach Jackson was managing the Bill Pitt/assisting with brackets. Very grateful for the work he does, the crew couldn't have had the opportunity if not for him.
This brings the off season match total to 5️⃣3️⃣. A more productive off season than all of last off season already. The most Havana has had is 2️⃣2️⃣3️⃣.

🏃♀️HS Track & Field🏃♀️ had the Illinois Top Times Meet (commonly known as Indoor State).
Kasyn had a thrilling race in the 3️⃣2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ meter where there was a pack of three in front and a pack of 4 not far after. Kasyn, in the pack of 4, had an excellent kick and was able to solidify a 5th place finish. 6th place finished .01 of a second behind Kasyn. Truly a finish and race to be proud of. A combination of tenacity and grit. The indoor record is improved to 1️⃣1️⃣:2️⃣0️⃣.8️⃣6️⃣ until next year.

TONIGHT IS OPENING NIGHT!! Tickets are available at the door. Doors open at 6:00pm. The show begins at 7:00pm. The HHS Drama Club has worked so hard to prepare for this weekend. We hope to see you there!!

Big shout out to Carter Henderson, a senior who cut 2.6 seconds off his 4️⃣0️⃣0️⃣m time from last year.
Dylan Yocum, also a senior, added half an inch to his shot put best and ran half a second faster on the 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣. Stronger and faster 😤😤.
