🏃♀️HS Track & Field🏃♂️went to Midwest Central last night. Thank you to Coach Snider over at MWC for allowing us to add this meet.
It was a tough week by design, and the kids were feeling the volume the week. We start our taper here soon, and the kids times will get faster and faster with less fatigue from practice and meets. To have our kids PR during the hard part of the season is very impressive.
1️⃣) The boys team. The boys this year have all been on 🔥fire🔥 but at different times. Yesterday they were all on fire at the same time! They finished 1st place 🥇in 4️⃣ events, 2nd place🥈 in 2️⃣ events and won all 3️⃣ relays they ran! They also finished 🥇first as a team out of the 5 schools.
2️⃣) Evy Smith had her first race of the year and it went really, really well for her. We talked about where we would like to be and she is right there!
3️⃣) Hunter David stepped up in a way I didn't expect. A teammate felt not great from a run and we scratched his events. We needed an alternate for the 4x4. A different teammate volunteered and I said I needed that kid's open 200 time. Hunter said, "I have an open 200 time already, I can run the 4x4." Amazing. Call me crazy, but I think Hunter is starting to like the 400 🤔🤔.
4️⃣) Lila Dye is putting together a really good season! She PRed in the discus and is nearing that 100 foot mark!
5️⃣) Patty Pitzer ran the 8️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ last night in 3:37. Her season record in the 4️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ is 1:18. Quick math says she ran faster than her 1 lap best TWICE during that race. A great effort by Patty!
We are so proud to recognize our April Students of the Month at New Central Elementary! These students have shown outstanding determination—working hard, pushing through challenges, and never giving up even when things get tough. 💪 🦆#GoDucks

Great Track meet for the JH Track team! Lots of personal bests and a ton of kids won their events! Here are a few pictures of the boys team in action! Go Ducks!🦆

Lady Ducks back in action today with a nice win against Farmington. It took a few innings for the bats to warm up but when they did, the girls came alive. Madolyn Howerter pitched 7 scoreless innings , Kaydi Miller hit a homer and several girls contributed offensively as the Lady Ducks won 10-0.
5-2 finished up their Volume Zoo project to end the Volume Unit. They worked to find the volume of each box to figure out the total volume of their creation! Their finished products turned out great! Now the 6th grade Math students will use our animals for their Surface Area assignment! Go Ducks!🦆

Saturday's High School Baseball

🏃♂️HS Track & Field🏃♀️had a great home meet last night. The kids had 1️⃣3️⃣ personal bests and the boys 4️⃣x1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ team had another season best.
Shout outs:
1️⃣) The entire throws program. Small meets are scored: 5 points for 1st place, 3 for 2nd, 2 for 3rd, and 1 point for 4th (quick math says 11 points total for event 😎). Our girls shot putters scored 8️⃣ of the 11, girls disc scored 8️⃣ of the 11, boys shot scored 5️⃣ points, and boys disc scored 9️⃣ points. Our throws crew did an amazing job competing.
2️⃣) Our sprint crew. We let our sprint crew run fast in the 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣, having 1️⃣3️⃣ of our kids run the event. They know some meets are work meets and this was one of them. Most of the sprinters ran a 4️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ and the 4️⃣x4️⃣0️⃣0️⃣, just for the workout. All of those kids put a ton of work in, even though they hated it. A lot of people would sandbag the workout and do it low effort just to do it. Not Havana kids. Havana kids trust the process. I'm proud of them for doing the hard stuff with high effort.
3️⃣) We had another innersquad grudge match with the boys. Distance 4x400, versus sprint 4x400, versus throwers 4x200 with their time doubled. The distance crew, who previously held the title, was overthrown (pun intended😮) by the throwers. Howerter, Griffin, Layton, and Yocum finished with a 2:02, doubled to 4:04. Finishing 1st in front of the sprinter's 4:08 and the distance 4:18. These kids love competing with everyone, especially each other.
4️⃣) Special shout out to Jordyn Markley for having a few high jump cues click, adding 4 inches to her precious season best.
5️⃣) Kasyn Jibben is closing in on having another school record, tying the previous one for the 1️⃣6️⃣0️⃣0️⃣. I can see her taking it officially pretty soon.
- I could talk and talk but I'll hold myself to just 5. I'm so proud of everyone and it seems like there is a cool moment for somone every couple minutes.
Happy Secretary's Day to our wonderful and well deserving Junior High secretaries. Unfortunately, we are missing Valerie Ford-Brooks in the picture, but she too deserves great praise. Thank you for all that you do, ladies. We hope you enjoyed the sip and dip day with the soda bar and all the goodies!

Havana CUSD #126 is thankful for all of our secretaries! We appreciate all that you do for the students and staff.

A BIG thank you to all of our bus drivers and monitors, working hard behind the scenes, who help keep our students safe every single day 👏🚌

Your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed, and our community is stronger because of it. 💛
✨ Now we’re growing again… and we need YOU!
We’re currently hiring for the following school year.
• 2 School Bus Drivers
• 3 Bus Monitors
If you’re looking for a meaningful role where you can make a difference every day, this could be your moment.
👉 Will you be the next to join our team?

JH Track Spotlight Shoutout!! Myles and Makayla are two of the best student-athletes you could ask for. They are kind, coachable, and hardworking. Makayla is a Track veteran while this is Myles' first year. They both keep earning personal bests and are great assets for the team. Keep up the good work!🦆🏃♀️🏃♂️

DUCKS vs Panthers

JH Track had the last home meet of the season this afternoon! 7th and 8th grade boys both took 1st place as a team. This year's group of 8th graders always work hard and they've been great leaders for the younger athletes.
Special Shout out to Drake Skaggs for breaking the school Discus record again throwing 156' 11.5"(47.84m)!
Keep working hard, Ducks!🎽
