5th graders in Mrs. French's math class are measuring, cutting, crafting and creating for their Volume Zoo project to end the volume chapter! They have to choose a few boxes, decide on an animal to create, find the volume of each box and combine them for total volume, and then create their animals! Stay tuned for finished products!

Today we’re celebrating three of our students who absolutely crushed their life skills goals by beating their task box times! 🎉
Task boxes are structured, hands-on activities designed to help students build independence with everyday skills. Each box targets a specific skill—like sorting, matching, organizing, or following steps—and gives students a clear, repeatable way to practice. Over time, students not only improve accuracy but also increase their speed and confidence.
Watching these three stay focused, push themselves, and finish faster than ever before was amazing. More importantly, they showed perseverance, independence, and pride in their work.
We love seeing progress like this—small wins that build big life skills! 💪✨

Ethan Edwards from ThinkFirst for teens at SIU school of Medicine came to the drivers education class to educate on how car crashes are a leading cause of brain and spinal cord injures for teens. He had different tools for the kids to practice real life scenarios and goggles that show the visual effects from impairment.
Thank you for coming to our class!

🏃♀️HS Track & Field🏃♂️had the John Livingston Freshman/Sophomore Invite last night. The kids had 1️⃣0️⃣ PRs.
I am proud of EVERYONE, but there are some specific shout outs:
Bracdyn had 2 of the PRs, one in the 8️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ and one in the 1️⃣6️⃣0️⃣0️⃣. What made his 800 so cool was Coach Cam Lee pushed him to run a harder race. All of his 4x800 splits and open 800s had him finishing around 2:29.8. He came out and ran a 2:21.99. An amazing 8 second PR. His sights are now set on a 2:15 race. Coach Lee will get him there; he has been working really hard with that 4x8 crew.
Kasyn Jibben broke the meet record in the 3️⃣2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ with a run of 11:31.4, previously 12:54.8.
Landon Howerter and Max Layton had a competition: winner between the two of them gets throw shotput in the Varsity meet on Thursday. Landon had a .17 m (7 inch) PR, winning the throw off. Howerter then had a personal best in the triple jump and Max had a PR in the discus. Max is fast approaching that 💯 foot mark.
The entire Freshman girls 4️⃣x2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ team (Marleigh, Ryleigh, Josey, Jordyn) ran a 2:06.73. That is 2.27 seconds faster than the Varsity 4x200 time.
Boys finished 10th of 15 teams
Girls finished 7th of 12
DUCKS vs Tigers
