Wow, another year in the books, and I was genuinely privileged to work with a great group of seventh-graders. We covered so much throughout the year, but we ended with their favorite and mine, reading 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘖𝘶𝘵𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴. The novel opens the avenue to great discussions regarding judging others based on surface level perceptions. We discuss how everyone has issues in his/her world even if those issues are hidden. This novel opens their eyes! We truly bond over it, and I can only hope they take the book's messages with them as they leave the classroom. If they do, I consider that a huge success! "Maybe the two worlds we lived in weren't so different. We saw the same sunset." (IYKYK) As a class, we discussed symbolism and its significance in literature. Students designed their own tattoos and wrote paragraphs explaining the symbolism in their designs. (Enlarge the images; we have some budding artists.) Stay Gold!

🏃‍♀️HS Track & Field 🏃‍♀️ CONGRATULATIONS to Kasyn Jibben on her work this weekend at State. She had a PR in the 3️⃣2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣, a run of 1️⃣1️⃣:0️⃣2️⃣.9️⃣8️⃣. This run earned her 6th place in state! On Thursday, she ran the 1️⃣6️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ in 5️⃣:1️⃣5️⃣.2️⃣2️⃣. She was able to hit personal bests at the Conference, Sectional, and State meets.
