A lot to celebrate at New Central last week! 🎉 Shout out to our guest student announcers, who saved up their Duck Bills and chose to spend them on the chance to take over the announcements for the day! We also celebrated our attendance winners and our awesome Weekend Backpack Delivery Team. Check out the photos and help us celebrate these great students! 🦆

Mini Mighty Ducks finished off their season with a 2nd place finish at the state games! They gave it their all and were rockstars out on the court! 🦆🏀

Third and fourth grade students who read five or more Bluestem books voted for their favorite book today. Students who read all 20 books served as the voting judges. The book Swim Team came in first place with the book Better with Butter close behind. Way to go New Central readers!

JH Scholastic Bowl gets a win at Spoon River Valley! Way to go!

New Central students and staff lined the halls to cheer on our athletes going to state tomorrow. Sidney VanEtten, Noah Kaler, Whitney Sams and Duane Cox participated in a special send-off, giving high fives and showing their Duck pride. We’re so proud of you and can’t wait to hear how you do. Go Ducks! 🦆

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️HS Track & Field 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♀️ is having a different type of fundraiser this year. On April 11th we are doing an alumni/parents' meet. As long as you're an adult in the community you can join in on the fun. There are three divisions. Youth (Graduate-24), Open (25-39), and Masters (40+). You don't need to be fast or in shape, you would just need to support the program. $5 an entry, $20 a relay. How fun would it be to have a family run a relay together? We put some medley races in there so people can run different distances. Shot put, 100m, SDM 2 are among the popular early entries! Email Coach Jackson at ljackson@havana126.net for details. High School Musical Practice for tonight 3/11 has been cancelled. We will resume practice tomorrow. Cast members should check their email for more information. Contact Mrs. Oest with any questions.

Due to the cancellation of practices yesterday and the power outages we are dealing with today, the Junior High Musical scheduled for this weekend has been postponed. We are tentatively scheduling the JH Musical for next weekend 3/20-3/21.

Havana #126 will need to dismiss at 10:00 today so Ameren can turn off power to make repairs in the community. Please be patient with dismissal. If you need to make special arrangements for your child, try the child's school or District Office.

The storms have caused some challenges this morning but school is still open today. Buses will be running late and there may need to be a change in lunch potentially. Everything else we can work through. Be careful driving to school.

Busses this morning will be running roughly 40 minutes behind. We apologize for the delay.

The HHS cheer workshop scheduled for Wednesday 3/11 at New Central has been moved up to 4pm and will conclude by 530pm. Tryouts will still be Thursday night at 6pm at New Central despite this evenings cancellation.
