🦆 We’re only 20 puzzle pieces away from reaching our STEAM fundraising goal! 🧩
Thank you to our students, families, staff, and community members who’ve helped us get this far; our puzzle is nearly complete!
There are still other ways to donate. Please check the list and send items with students or drop them off at the New Central office. Every little bit helps!

A big shout-out to Huntleigh Ward for receiving a positive bus referral for helping out her bus driver! Go Ducks!

Many HHS students recently participated in career exploration events. On Friday, November 7th, sophomores traveled to the campus of Spoon River College to participate in the Career Expo event there. Today, November 14th, many juniors and seniors took advantage of the opportunity to attend the Trades Promotion Day held at Lewistown High School.

New Central Elementary & PTO STEAM Lab Update! 🦆
We are getting so close to reaching our fundraising goal to kick off our brand-new STEAM Lab! Check out the puzzle image below; each piece represents progress, and thanks to your generosity, we’ve already put a huge portion of the puzzle together.
A big shout out to the Oktoberfest Committee for their incredibly generous donation! Your support has moved us one giant step forward. 🎉
Every single contribution, big or small, helps fill in another piece of the puzzle. We couldn’t have gotten this far without the support of our amazing community. 🦆

🇺🇸 A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Veterans 🇺🇸
We want to extend our gratitude to the veterans who joined us at New Central today. Thank you for braving the cold weather to be honored at our Veterans Day assembly.
Our students and staff truly appreciate you taking the time to be with us. It was a privilege to share the poems, songs, and artwork our students prepared in your honor.
Thank you for your service and for inspiring our students with your courage and dedication to our country! 🇺🇸❤️

A BIG thank you to County Market for donating water for our students and to Aramark and our cafeteria staff for providing some nice food options also on Friday for our PBIS 1st Quarter incentive day. Go Ducks!!
What a Friday at New Central! 🎉
Even with a half day, our building was packed with fun and celebration! Every classroom enjoyed a PBIS Cart Party, another awesome group of 4th graders helped deliver Backpack Program sacks, and we wrapped up the morning with a school-wide assembly recognizing our October Students of the Month for showing self-control. 💪
Tomorrow brings even more excitement as we welcome special guests for our Veterans Day Assembly. 🇺🇸 Students will share their artwork, poems, and songs as they honor and learn from the incredible veterans in our community. We can’t wait! ❤️💙

The first quarter HJHS PBIS incentive day was a success! Students ate snacks, played board games, took part in some of their favorite P.E. activities, and became phosphorescent with the help of Miss Hughes and Miss Prater at the glow party ! (Thank you to everyone who shared blacklights with us.)
Next quarter's incentive day is attending a Peoria Rivermen hockey game.
Students, keep working hard, and keep modeling our PBIS words of the month. We are proud of you!
In conjunction with Thanksgiving, this month's PBIS word is Gratitude.
