🍕 Fun Friday in HHS Life Skills!🍕

For our first cooking activity of the school year, our students did a wonderful job making their very own pizzas! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳 They practiced following a recipe, gathering ingredients, measuring, assembling, and cooking their pizzas—all while building important independent living skills.

After enjoying their delicious creations, the students completed a quiz reviewing the recipe, ingredients, and steps they followed. They worked hard and did an amazing job!

What a fun and successful way to kick off our cooking activities for the year! 🍕❤️💙

To commemorate the events of 9/11, students district-wide were encouraged to wear red white and blue to honor those that were lost on that tragic day 25 years ago. Here are the junior high students showing their participation.

Today, 9/11, is NOT an early dismissal day. Havana students will dismiss at our regular time. Speaking of dismissal, If your child’s dismissal plans are changing, please call the school office before 1:30 PM so we have plenty of time to communicate the change with teachers and bus drivers. 👟JH Cross Country ran a tough course in the heat today at the Annual Cyclone Invite. The girls team placed 4th and the boys team placed 3rd! Great job to all of our runners! Special shout outs go to Kendall McCausland and Lucas Roskelley for being the first from our team to pass the finish line! Kendall finished 12th and Lucas finished 6th! Go Ducks!🦆

The starting time for the JH football game scheduled for Tuesday 9/8 in Havana has been moved from 5:30 to 6:30. Hopefully the temperatures will be more comfortable for players and fans at this time.

📸 Senior Banner Pictures Senior banner pictures will be taken tomorrow, Tuesday, September 8, beginning at the start of 7th hour for all senior athletes and band members. Please make arrangements with your coaches ahead of time for any uniforms, jerseys, or gear you will need for your pictures. Coaches are aware of the schedule and will help you get the uniforms/gear you need. Band members should also make sure they have any band uniforms or equipment they need for their pictures. 📣5th and 6th grade girls basketball practice begins tomorrow after school at the JH until 4:30🏀. Parent meeting will be Wednesday at 4:30 at the JH.( If your daughter is playing softball, they will begin practice AFTER softball games/season is completed. )🦆 Go Ducks!
