A huge THANK YOU to our local paramedics!
Over the past two days, they have generously devoted their time to assisting our High School PE students in earning their CPR certification! Students learned valuable lifesaving skills including basic First Aid, CPR, and how to properly use AEDs.
We are incredibly grateful for their time, expertise, and commitment to helping our students gain these important skills!

HELP NEEDED
HJHS is in search of blacklights. We ordered blacklights for our Friday PBIS incentive party, but they have been stuck in transit (in North Pekin) since Monday. We're beginning to panic. Is there anyone who can help?
JHGBB: Both 7th and 8th grade girls come up with big wins over Jacksonville tonight at Home. Back in action tomorrow night vs Illini Bluffs at Home. Go Ducks!!

Good afternoon. We would like to let you know of a small change we are making for any students riding the #16 PM Transfer bus to the JH. Bus #16 will now be pulling into the JH loop and letting PM Transfer students off at the doors. We ask that students walk off of the bus and stand behind the yellow safety line until the bus has left. In addition, if you are picking up a student, please park in one of our parking lots instead of in the road. This will allow for a safe and smooth flow during the dismissal process as well as any winter sports congestion. This change will begin tomorrow, Wednesday, November 4th.
JHBBB: 7th grade falls to Delavan in the first game, but 8th grade comes away with a big win over the Panthers. Go Ducks!

On Friday, our awesome 4th graders helped deliver the Backpack Program sacks of weekend food to classrooms once again! Just look at those adorable Halloween sacks! 🎃
A big thank you to all the helping hands who make the Backpack Program possible for our students each week.

STATE BOUND! Kasyn Jibben ran a school record time of 18:16.9 and finished 9th this morning at the Elmwood sectional. Her season will continue next week at the state meet in Peoria.
While the season came to an end for the rest of the Ducks, they should all be extremely proud of the work they put in this year. Go Ducks!

We wrapped up our flag football season this morning and couldn’t be happier with how it went! A huge thank you to all the kids who participated, our high school players who helped coach, and the Havana Youth League for making it all possible — and for their generous donation back to the Havana Football Program.
We’re so glad to have flag football back in Havana and can’t wait to see it grow even more next season. Go Ducks! 🦆

Music is glowing at New Central! Mrs. Oest has created such a fun and engaging space for our students to learn and make music together. Yesterday’s class was a full-on Glow Party!
Check out all the fun chaos as our students lit up the room with rhythm, movement, and smiles!

Today marked the fifth and final day of Red Ribbon Week at New Central! Students and staff showed up in all things Halloween with the motto “Say Boo to Drugs.”
Students also learned about Kiki Camarena, the man whom Red Ribbon Week honors; a dedicated agent who worked tirelessly to remove drugs from his community and inspire others to live drug free.
A big thank you to Chestnut Health Systems for providing our red ribbons, sidewalk chalk, and the educational announcements that guided our learning all week long. ❤️

Life Skills students had a spooky week! Monster donuts, Halloween bingo and creepy cupcakes, Oh My!
