High School Graduation will take place in high school gym at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 16th. Doors will open at 1:10 p.m. No one will be admitted without a ticket. Governor Pritzker has announced that Illinois will transition to the Bridging Phase on Friday, so each graduate will receive 10 tickets at graduation rehearsal. Handicap seating is on the gym floor.
The parade will happen after the ceremony and start at approximately 2:45 p.m. Seniors who want to take part in the parade should line their cars up around the high school (starting after the handicap parking) in front of high school on McKinley Street and parking counterclockwise around the school. The parade route is McKinley Street to north, to Jefferson Street to west, Schrader Street south and Adams Street to east.
HS Wrestling travels to PORTA for a home triangular meet with Quincy and Taylorville. Matches start at 5:00 PM. Visiting spectators are allowed for indoor events at PORTA High School. Spectators should wear a mask and socially distance from others. Good luck HS wrestlers!
HS Softball travels to Hamilton tonight for a game against West Hancock. First pitch is set for 4:30 and will be a varsity game followed by some JV innings. Good luck to our HS girls softball team!

4th grade students received a treat on Friday as they were entertained by senior band members Blake Cagle, Kaley Meyer, and Adam Bohm. Band director, Amanda Wiegers, brought several instruments for the seniors to play to give 4th graders a preview of what they could experience next year. It was a great time!


HS Softball splits their two games at Petersburg today. Ducks lose to PORTA 9-8 in a close one but bounce back in their second game of the day and beat Quincy High School 7-6 with a walkoff win!
High School Wrestling added two more wins this morning with a 60-18 win over SHG and a 52-22 win over Lincoln. This makes the season record 10-0. Next meet is Tuesday at PORTA. Go Ducks and Jays!

Youth Boys Basketball camp forms were sent out this week. The camp is for any boys that are interested and are entering 3rd-8th grade next year. Forms can be turned into either the New Central office or the Junior High School office. Forms are due by May 20 to receive a shirt.
