Blast Off to Kindergarten was a huge success last night! Thank you pre-K and New Central staff for your help with introducing our incoming students to Kindergarten. We had amazing attendance, so many thanks to the parents for supporting their students. If you have a child who will be entering kindergarten at New Central in the fall of 2021 and were not able to attend last night's informational meeting, please call Mrs. Cunningham at the JH or Mrs. Cowell at New Central to make arrangements to pick up your packet.

Mrs. Tomm's science classes are investigating topics in forensic science, such as latent prints, toolmarks, and blood spatter. Next week they will apply what they have learned to create mini crime scenes and challenge their classmates to solve the cases!

High School Wrestling ended the night 2-0 with a 53-22 win over Lincoln and a 42-32 win over Morton. Thursday we are at PORTA. Go Ducks and Jays!

HS Boys Baseball scheduled for Friday at Rushville has been cancelled. However, the boys baseball team has added a varsity ONLY game with Macomb at Havana High School this Thursday, April 29. Game will start at 4:30 PM.
HS Track ran an excellent meet yesterday at Midwest Central in their first meet of the season! The boys team placed first overall in the four-team boys side of the meet, while the girls placed first overall in the triangular girls meet. Several boys and girls had great individual days as well! Congrats to Tayden Friend and Reese Smith on earning Prairieland All-Conference South Division for the HS Volleyball team. Friend was a unanimous all-conference first-team selection and Smith was a second-team selection. Way to go girls! Go Ducks!
Results from yesterday's JH Big 5 Track Meet. 7th grade boys finished 2nd and 8th grade boys finished 3rd. Both the 7th and 8th grade girls finished finished 4th overall. As a team, the track team earned 19 medals overall. Notable medalists that received one or more medals were Madison Curless, Karlie Hurst, Haleah Perkins, Samara Stephens, Shelby McDaniel, Deagan Brown, Anthony Foster, Owen Smith, and Cayden Green. Deagan Brown and Cayden Green earned 4 medals each. Anthony Foster and Samara Stephens earned 3. Owen Smith earned 2. Congrats to the JH track team! Go Ducks!
