🚌School Bus Safety Week🚌 What is the "Danger Zone"? This is the area a minimum of 10 feet around the entire bus. This area is especially tricky when loading and unloading your student. Pleas be mindful of the areas you are crossing when getting your child to and from the bus. Best practice- always cross at the front of the bus and never from behind or walking close to the sides of the bus.

We would like to give a huge shoutout to our Transportation team. Sometimes driving buses can be a thankless job, but they transport our students day in and day out safely and with a smile. Thank you all for having such a passion for your role in the Havana School District. 🌟

🚌Bus Safety Week🚌 Student tip edition *Always be at your designated stop 5 minutes prior to your scheduled pickup time. *Always stand a minimum of five large steps from your curb or road. *Make eye contact with your driver and watch for them to tell you when it is safe to cross/step onto the bus. *ALWAYS make sure that you are able to see your driver and that they can see you. There is a 12-20' area around the bus that is completely blind. This is especially a concern at pickup and drop off. Never cross or walk to the back of a bus, for this reason. These tips may seem like they're only for students who ride routes, but let's not forget all of the trips and events that most students participate in.
