Our St. Jude Celebration ended today with the "Kiss the Pig" event! Mrs. Heye and Mr. Hawkins were the lucky winners this year!! We would like to thank them for being such good sports..and thank the Hodgson Family for providing this cute little pig! We raised almost $800 in the coin wars alone, for St. Jude...Go Ducks!
Andi Specketer just completed 2 years in the Promise Program, which is part of IMSA. This program encourages problem solving and hands on research through math and science. Andi’s favorite part of the program was the water cycle and pathogens. We are so proud of you, Andi!
JH Wrestling for tonight at Chatham Glenwood Middle School has been cancelled. There will be no makeup date for the matches.

The High School Track Team hosted Delavan, Midwest Central and Illini Central last night. There were a lot of great performances, lots of new PRs and both teams won their respective team contests! Go Ducks!! Here is the link to the results.

High School Wrestling (15-0) picked up 3 wins tonight, including one against 4th ranked Vandalia. We defeated Auburn 57-22, Hillsboro 57-24 and the 4th ranked Vandalia 42-33!

Mrs. Tomm's Science classes finalized their crime scene projects today and groups had the chance to solve each crime/situation. We might have some future crime scene investigators in our District! Go Ducks!
Havana Ducks youth boys basketball camp is scheduled for June 7th-10th at the Havana High School gym. Boys entering 3rd-5th grades next year from 8:00-9:45 AM and those entering 6th-8th grade from 10:15-12:00. Camp forms have been sent home but extras are available at both New Central and the Junior High. Completed forms can be turned into both offices as well. High School Wresting added two wins to the season (12-0) with a 58-12 win over Quincy and a 78-3 win over Taylorville.

High School Graduation will take place in high school gym at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 16th. Doors will open at 1:10 p.m. No one will be admitted without a ticket. Governor Pritzker has announced that Illinois will transition to the Bridging Phase on Friday, so each graduate will receive 10 tickets at graduation rehearsal. Handicap seating is on the gym floor.
The parade will happen after the ceremony and start at approximately 2:45 p.m. Seniors who want to take part in the parade should line their cars up around the high school (starting after the handicap parking) in front of high school on McKinley Street and parking counterclockwise around the school. The parade route is McKinley Street to north, to Jefferson Street to west, Schrader Street south and Adams Street to east.
HS Wrestling travels to PORTA for a home triangular meet with Quincy and Taylorville. Matches start at 5:00 PM. Visiting spectators are allowed for indoor events at PORTA High School. Spectators should wear a mask and socially distance from others. Good luck HS wrestlers!
