For the final award of the year, Kalei McDaniel was voted MVP of the girl’s cross country team. Kalei’s stellar career and season will continue this Saturday at the state cross country meet at Detweiler Park in Peoria. Congrats, Kalei, and good luck! Go Ducks!
Another award voted on by teammates, Ryan Emme earned the honor of MVP for the boy’s cross country team. Ryan only improved as the year went on, and it showed when he advanced to the section race as an individual. Great job, Ryan! Go Ducks!
For an award that was voted on by his teammates, Ben Snider earned the honor of “Exceptional Teammate”. Ben was a tremendous leader this year, and the cross country benefited greatly by having him as a member. Go Ducks!
The award for most improved runner went to Ryan Emme. Over the course of the season, Ryan improved his 3 mile race time by 9 minutes and 52 seconds. Go Ducks!
Scholar athlete awards - The average GPA of the 14 runners was 3.92 for the 1st quarter. Five students stood out by earning an A (93 percent or higher) in every class. Those 5 students were: Eric Bohm, Dylan Daniels, Ryan Emme, Kalei McDaniel, and Randi Schultz. Go Ducks!
