The HHS cross country season came to an end today at the sectional meet at Elmwood. The girls finished 18th overall. This group had a great year and should be proud of all that they accomplished.
Shoutout for today goes to Maddy Snedeker who worked through an injury to run a PR on a tough course. Go Ducks!


Halloween fun at New Central!










Mrs. Holtman's Child Development students worked very hard to write their Activity Lesson Plans to teach the children at the local daycare and Havana Pre-K. The students taught the children and then played with them. It was a fun time and they made quick friendships. Go Ducks!

New Central music students have had a fun Halloween week. Using glo sticks to tap out notes and beats, they danced to "Spooky, Spooky Skeletons", "Ghostbusters!", and other Halloween favorites.

Liam Lacelles and Hailey Thomas are the first students to read 5 Blue Stem Books this year. They will be able to vote for their favorite Blue Stem book in March. If they continue reading, they can earn the chance to participate in the Blue Stem Challenge, an ice cream sundae party, and lunch at the park.


It's always a good day to be a Duck, but especially fun on Halloween! I enjoyed handing out stickers this morning at New Central and talking with the kids.

8th Grade Girls Basketball plays tomorrow at 4:30 in Lewistown for the final day of their county tournament! Good Luck Ducks!

The students in Advanced Biology completed a squid dissection in class today. Squids belong to a group of unique animals called cephalopods, and everyone really enjoyed observing them up close. Go Ducks!




Tonight's 5/6 girls basketball game in Athens will be one game at 6:00 for 6th grade only. Good Luck Ducks!! 🏀🏀

HS Boys Basketball will be holding a player/parent meeting tonight, Tuesday, October 29th, at 6 PM in the HS library for all those student-athletes interested in playing basketball this season. Those attending should enter the main doors by the HS office. The gym foyer will be reserved for those attending the HS girls volleyball regional that is being hosted by Havana High School that week. The Ducks win a thriller in the third set 26-24 over West Central to move on in the IHSA regional at Havana. Ducks will play Augusta/Southeastern on Wednesday night at 6 PM. Go Ducks!

West Central comes back to win set two of the match against the Ducks, 25-20. On to set three to determine the winner of the first regional match in Havana. Go Ducks!

IHSA regional volleyball update...Ducks beat Winchester West Central in the first set 25-9. On to set number two. Go Ducks!

Life skills went on a trip to pick turnips today! The rest of the week we will be looking up different ways to eat turnips and learn about the environment they grow in
