⭐️ Reminder to New Central Families-come join in on the PTO fun tomorrow!
❄️ It's a positive behavior blizzard!❄️ While the snow may have stopped outside, it is still going strong inside New Central. New Central students have been working hard to earn snowflakes during December. Snowflakes are earned when a whole class is caught making positive choices. If students earn 275 snowflakes before Friday, they will get to enjoy a fun winter carnival. Only 55 left to go!

🌟 This week’s science lesson was all about ENERGY! 💡
4th grade students learned how our bodies use food for energy—just like cars use gasoline. Then, they built their own “Twist-o-Matic” rides powered by rubber bands 🎢. They compared how fast the ride spun using thin vs. thick bands and saw the power of stored energy in action 🔄✨.
To top it off, students in Mr. Deters's class got creative by sketching their own amusement park ride ideas—and some went above and beyond by actually designing and building their very own unique rides! 🎨🛠️ So much creativity and curiosity on display today! 🌟👏
This year, students at New Central have PE every day! They have music four days per week and library once per week. We are lucky to have Mrs. Hofman teach our students how to keep their bodies healthy through movement, Mrs. Oest show our students how to make and appreciate music and Mrs. Coulter help our students develop a love of reading.
Second graders visited Lincoln's New Salem State Historic Site on Thursday. They were excited to walk in the footsteps of Abraham Lincoln and see what life was like in the 1830's. It was a day full of history, learning, and fun!
Thank you to the Havana Public Library for hosting all three first grade classes today. Students learned how to check out books and heard about many of the fun programs offered by the library. We encourage all Havana students to take advantage of the library's services and keep reading and learning this summer.
