Thank you for your hard work, care, and all the behind-the-scenes things you do for our students and staff. We appreciate you every day!
Havana Homecoming is next week, and New Central is joining in on the fun! 🎉 We’ve got a full week of dress-up days planned so our littlest Ducks can show their school spirit right along with the JH and HS!

⭐️ Reminder to New Central Families-come join in on the PTO fun tomorrow!
❄️ It's a positive behavior blizzard!❄️ While the snow may have stopped outside, it is still going strong inside New Central. New Central students have been working hard to earn snowflakes during December. Snowflakes are earned when a whole class is caught making positive choices. If students earn 275 snowflakes before Friday, they will get to enjoy a fun winter carnival. Only 55 left to go!
Friendly reminder that our 3rd and 4th grade concerts are this evening at Havana High School!
-3rd Grade performs at 6 PM
-4th Grade performs at 7 PM
Doors will open no earlier than 5:30 PM. We are excited to see everyone tonight and look forward to celebrating our students' hard work and music making! 🦆
TURKEY TROT RESCHEDULED-Tuesday the 25th
TURKEY TROT POSTPONED: Due to the increased chance of rain overnight, today's turkey trot has been canceled. Please check your child's class dojo for reschedule information; details will be posted there later this morning.
Thank you for your understanding.
🌟 This week’s science lesson was all about ENERGY! 💡
4th grade students learned how our bodies use food for energy—just like cars use gasoline. Then, they built their own “Twist-o-Matic” rides powered by rubber bands 🎢. They compared how fast the ride spun using thin vs. thick bands and saw the power of stored energy in action 🔄✨.
To top it off, students in Mr. Deters's class got creative by sketching their own amusement park ride ideas—and some went above and beyond by actually designing and building their very own unique rides! 🎨🛠️ So much creativity and curiosity on display today! 🌟👏
