In honor of Halloween, Mrs. Heye's 8th grade English Language Arts students are reviewing literary elements with a mini horror unit. Today, students watched short films while analyzing elements of suspense. Tomorrow, they'll read the short story "The Landlady" by Roald Dahl, and later this week, they'll listen to a spooky podcast. It should be a frightfully fun week in ELA! 👻🎃💀

JH girls basketball went on the road to Lewistown. 7th grade played hard, falling short 27-25. 8th grade brought home the win after making a come back in the 2nd quarter. They ended the game 34 to 29. Great job tonight! We are at Bushnell tomorrow. Wish us luck! 🍀 Go ducks!
One of Havana's favorite Fall festivals is coming soon! Join us on Wednesday, October 22nd, at the Havana Junior High for an evening of fabulous fall events! The event is free and open to the community.

JH girls basketball played a tough Carthage team this morning and lost both games. The girls played hard and kept pushing all the way to the final buzzer. Next game is Monday at Dunlap Middle school. We will have a shoot around at 1:30 pm at the junior high. Bus leaves at 2:20 pm. 7th grade game starts at 4:15 pm with the 8th grade to follow. Have a great weekend! Go ducks! 🏀
Junior High Lady Ducks played the first home game of the season tonight against Elmwood. Both 7th and 8th grade came away with the win! Way to go ladies! We're back in action tomorrow at Macomb. Go ducks! 🏀

We had a great week of basketball camp with the 1st-4th grade girls. They learned a lot and had fun while doing it. Everyone got better this week! A huge shoutout to all of the junior high girls that came out to be camp leaders. We hope to see everyone back again next year!




We were off to the races and did a victory lap around New Central as the incoming kindergarteners celebrated their next step! Thank you to Ross Racing, Kent Johnson, Havana Public Library, PreK Team, Kindergarten Team, and New Central Staff for an amazing night!



Start your engines! Kindergarten Orientation Night is tomorrow night. Children entering Kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year are invited to orientation night Wednesday, May 7th. Come early at 4:45 pm to get your picture taken with a real race car! Children will tour the building while parents learn about school expectations and speak with school staff. Future racers and their pit crews (parents) won't want to miss this!

Approximately 220 people came out for our Spring Festival! Thank you to all the community members and agencies that contributed to the success!

PreK-4th grade enjoyed a concert by author and musician Jim Gill today! A great time was had by the children and adults!




Congratulations to the Havana High School Scholastic Bowl team on their 2nd place finish in the Fulton County Tournament. Congratulations to Reid Emme for making the All Tournament team!
