Reminder... Havana School District #126 registration for the 2024-25 school year is tomorrow, Thursday, August 8th, at the Havana Junior High School. Registration times will be 9 AM - 1 PM and 2:30 PM - 5:30 PM. Those unable to make it tomorrow can come to the any of the school offices from August 12th-16th between 7:30 AM - 2 PM to register your child. This is a reminder that Havana 126 registration for the 24-25 school year is this Thursday, August 8th, at Havana Junior High. Registration times will be 9am-1pm and 2:30pm-5:30pm. The HS golf season starts Monday, August 12th. For the first week of practices from 8/12 - 8/14. Practices will be from 1:00-3:45 PM. The team will leave from behind the weight room at 12:15 PM and should return about 4:30 PM. Any athletes participating in high school sports during the fall season and their parents, as well as junior high football athletes and parents, should plan to attend the meeting. For any incoming 6th-8th grade girls interested in JH softball this fall, practices will begin today, Monday, July 29, 2024, from 4:15-6:15 PM at the new HS softball field located between the baseball field and track. Practices will continue all week (July 29 - August 2) from 4:15-6:15 PM. A short parent meeting will take place after today's practice at the softball field (right after practice is finished). Any girl planning to participate must have a valid sports physical in order to start practice. Congratulations to 2024 Havana HS graduates Abby Cowell and Remington Schleyhahn on their induction to the Golden Apple Scholar program this morning in Tinley Park. Golden Apple supports inspiring teachers with mentoring, professional development, summer institutes, and up to $23000 in scholarship money. The 300+ members of the 2024 scholarship class were selected from over 3500 applicants across the state of Illinois. Abby will attend Eastern Illinois University to earn a degree in special education. Remington will pursue his music education degree at Olivet University.
