High School girls basketball plays Prairieland Conference opponent, North Fulton, tomorrow, Saturday, February 20th at Cuba High School. Game will be a VARSITY ONLY contest due to low numbers for the Wildcats. The varsity game starts at 1:00 PM. No visiting spectators are allowed per COVID procedures at North Fulton. High School Scholastic Bowl finishes 4th overall in the Prairieland Conference Championship meet last night. Ducks finish the conference season with a fantastic 14-3 overall record! High School Scholastic Bowl will participate in the Fulton County tournament the first week of March before heading to IHSA Regionals the week after. Go Ducks!
Varsity and JV girls basketball pick up wins at Midwest Central tonight! JV won 38-4 and varsity won 38-22. Girls play again Saturday at North Fulton. Go Ducks!

Mrs. Emme's students are learning about perimeter by computing the perimeter of 4 different hexagon trains. Later, they will determine the perimeter of another train without constructing it.
Miss Ley's class is learning about Black History Month and will be doing a project about prominent Black leaders throughout history. Mrs. McDaniel's and Tomm's Science classes are learning about the Moon Rover landing, which happens today at 2:55pm, so tune in...Go Ducks!

Some other results from last night's games besides HS boys basketball included the 5th/6th grade boys with a win over North Fulton 25-18. Hs Lady Ducks girls basketball came up just short at Quincy Notre Dame.
Parents/Guardians of New Central students are reminded that school starts at 7:50 a.m. at the elementary school. We have too many students being dropped off after 7:50. The doors open at 7:30 and, today, the drop off line was done by 7:45. Also, students are not to be dropped off at the intersections on Pearl St. in front of the school. The drop off area on High St. is a safe place for students to exit cars and is always done by 7:50. If you need to be on your way early, please get in line early. Thank you for keeping our students safe!
