Havana High School Scholastic Bowl will participate in two all virtual matches tonight against Spoon River Valley and Knoxville. Good luck to the Ducks Scholastic Bowl team!

Some 5th grade DARE graduates also earned an award for receiving a 98, 99, or 100% on their final exam! We are proud of all of our students for completing the program, and we thank Chief Weseloh for his time and efforts!

We are aware of the recent announcement by the Governor and IDPH regarding extracurricular activities and sports for schools. We are reviewing information and waiting for an update from the IHSA and IESA and will get information out when we have more clarification. Go Ducks!

Reminder: Extracurricular sports practices and open gyms for in-season sports begin on Monday, January 25. Practice times for Monday are as followed: HS boys basketball 2:30-4:00 at New Central gym, HS girls basketball 2:30-4:00 at Havana High School gym, JH (7th/8th grade) boys basketball 2:30-4:00 at the Havana Junior High gym, JH (7th/8th grade) girls volleyball 4:30-6:00 at the Havana Junior High gym, 5th/6th grade boys basketball 4:30-6:00 at New Central gym. All those planning on participating must have a COVID permission slip form signed and a valid physical on file to start practicing. Practice and times for Tuesday and the rest of the week will be communicated via coaches. Havana High School Scholastic Bowl picked up three more all-virtual wins last night over A-Town, Rushville, and Lewistown to stay undefeated this season. Adam Bohm, Karac Henderson, and Lauren Curless starred for the Ducks during the toss up round of questions! Go Ducks!

Practice times will be shared via our district app by the end of the day today. Also, a new COVID release form for athletes involved in extracurriculars is attached. Athletes must have this form signed by a parents, as well as have a valid physical on file in the office, in order to practice or play in competitions. As a reminder for all junior high and high school student-athletes, when we get additional information for sports to resume from the IHSA and IESA, a valid physical will need to be on file to participate in any extracurricular activities and/or practices.
