🏅🎉 Student of the Month Shout-Out! 🎉🏅 Help us give a HUGE round of applause to our August “Respect” and September “Trustworthiness” Students of the Month at New Central! These students were recognized for showing what it means to treat others with kindness, listen well, follow directions, and earn the trust of teachers and classmates alike. We’re so proud of each and every one of them!

The HHS cross country competed in the Prairieland Conference meet today at Spring Lake in Maccomb. The girls team finished 5th in the conference this year and the boys finished 7th! Earning All-Conference honors was Kasyn Jibben who finished 2nd. Also, congrats to Bracdyn Richmond for running a PR for the second meet in a row. Go Ducks!

Students in Co-Ed P.E. worked through a yoga routine and guided meditation as part of their relaxation activities for the week.

The HS XC meet at Spring Lake was moved to 5:00 today but parents I would not change your departure time. There is a line backed up across the bridge due to construction. Allow time!

5th and 6th grade girls' basketball lose two tough ones at Dunlap.

JV football drops their game at ROWVA. They will be back in action 10/13 at home vs A-Town.

Big win in 2 games for the Varsity Volleyball team tonight against Midwest Central! JV falls in a 3 game set in the early game. The Ducks are back in action tomorrow night at Peoria Heights.

Havana boys golf played at played at the PORTA invite today. Many players had their personal best. Miles Chapin got 1st place overall shooting a 75 and winning in extra holes. Miles has put in a lot of practice to earn his first win! Great job Miles!

It's been a great week to be a Duck! A huge shout out to the staff and students for a fun and yet still productive week at school.

We hope you can join us for the homecoming game tonight! Students should be cheering on their team, but if they are going to play it needs to be outside of the fenced area on the football practice field. Keep in mind this area will not be directly supervised but is still school property. Please talk to your student about behavior expectations and safety. We also ask that you keep an eye on them. There haven't been any major issues yet and we are just trying to prevent this from becoming a safety concern for all spectators. Thank you and Go Ducks!

Big thanks to Officer Engledow for coming out to the Junior High yesterday to talk with our 7th and 8th graders about what you do as a conservation officer! The students are learning about ecology right now, and your talk really helped them see how conservation fits into keeping ecosystems healthy. They also loved getting to ask all their burning questions!
